Holy shit, I saw Dir en grey live. It was the most amazing moment in my life and can only be topped by seeing them again (or catching Toshiya's guitar pick, which I am desperate for). Their BAMF ways totally inspired me- for what, I'm not quite sure. I used to really love Die- always so confident and intense, but manages to have a laid-back air about him. After seeing them, it's all about Toshiya. He is so cute- boyish, constantly moving, fooling around, cracking a smile or in the zone focused entirely on the music. Not to mention, his haircut is hot. It really fits him, I think, and his personality.
I am so attracted to them, it's ridiculous and annoying.

The rain has never been particularly romantic to me (blame the pnemonia I got when I was 6 for playing in it...), but there's something about the rain that is so inspiring. It adds drama or sadness to any moment. It's raining pretty hard outside right now, and I can't help but want to paint, or draw, or write. Rain is cleansing, cathartic.

Whenever I listen to a song, it's inevitable that I connect it to something- my life, or the life of characters I've imagined or read about.
Lovers in Japan - Coldplay I love what Chris Martin said about the song: "No one associates romance with Japan. Everyone thinks Japan is just about Hitachi and neon signs, but every time we're there, we see these amazing sunrises. It's very sexy." I think Japan is really understated as a "romantic place." Whenever I think of Japan, I think of love and the fullness of life. Those are exactly the things this song evokes- for some reason, whenever I hear it I feel the exhilaration of walking down a city street, drunk on love. There's also the romantic element of the sunrises- a new beginning, a new day, and new memories to share with one another. ~So naturally, I always think of Dominic and Daphne when I hear this song ^-^.
慰みブルー- Bonnie Pink I love the "blue-sy" feel of this song, it's almost as if you can feel the sadness pouring through her words. I really can't explain why it really struck me out of all the songs on "Thinking Out Loud," but I really love it. I think it talks about heartbreak in a way that isn't annoying or overly-dramatic, but instead is honest and heart-felt. ~I first listened to this song when I was on a Cowboy Bebop high, so I always think of the Spike/Faye relationship when I play it.
After Hours - We Are Scientists I've already mentioned my strange obsession with this song, but I felt like reinforcing it. The city is so attractive to me for some reason, and I always picture the backdrop of this song as the city, bright lights at night and all. To me, there is such an intensity to it, some element I can't quite put my finger on. There's sadness and hope intertwined. I love the chorus, it really strikes me. Keith's voice and the music really complement all the emotions the song evokes. ~There isn't really a character I can relate this song to, but it's a story waiting to be written.
Hoppípolla - We Are Scientists (Sigur Rós cover) This song isn't exactly "story inspiration," but it's definitely beautiful and emotional. For some reason, it seems a lot sadder than the original version- the slow simple beat and the guitars are so perfect and melancholy. I especially love when the bass comes in after the first few chords are played. So in short, this song makes me inexplicably happy and inexplicably sad at the same time, and I wouldn't mind it playing the the background of something eventful.
This Modern Love - Bloc Party Oh, I love this song so much. As with every other Bloc Party song, the lyrics are so cute, the vocals are great, and the music just flows beautifully through the speakers. It's about my favorite thing- everyday love and the simple pleasures or petty arguments that define it. It's so honest and simple, but powerful because of that. This song comes in a close tie with "Blue Light" as my favourite Bloc Party song. ~Everyday love stories, of course. For that unnamed boy & girl.
悲劇は目蓋を下ろした優しき鬱 - Dir en grey I remember being amazed the first time I heard this song; it was a cloudy day and I was waiting for my ride to come. Before I even looked up the translation to this song, I felt as though it was about the sea- the melody was so sad and beautiful, light and heavy at the same time. Kyo's vocals are absolutely gorgeous, and the lyrics paint a picture with blues and greys to me (if that makes sense). I can see a story playing out in my head to this song. ~Kysa and Kane, Dominic and Daphne. Their relationships seem solid and fine on the surface, but there's something deeper and fragile there as well.
Dramamine - Modest Mouse Damn, this song is genius. I was totally amazed when I first heard it, like immobilized by its greatness. The guitars are so beautiful in this song, yet so painfully sad. It's mesmorizing, it's pensive, it's so incredibly perfect (for what, I'm not sure). Despite the fact that it makes me sad, I love listening to it and reflecting or remembering.
Adding more later :)

This is completely random, but I heard this song and I fell in love with it again.
It really reminds me of Sasuke for some reason, and I don't know why.
